Where It All Started

Back in 2019, I was training athletes out of a cramped garage space in East Van. Had maybe three barbells, some bumper plates I'd scrounged together, and a dream that probably seemed pretty ridiculous to most people. But here's the thing - I'd spent years competing in Olympic lifting and watching talented folks waste their potential in cookie-cutter gyms that didn't get it.

I remember this one client, Sarah - she'd been bouncing between commercial gyms for two years, getting nowhere. First session with me, she deadlifted more than she ever thought possible. That moment right there? That's what Ignisth Alempire is built on. Real progress, not Instagram-filtered nonsense.

We opened our Granville Street location in 2020 - yeah, perfect timing with everything going on, but somehow we made it work. Started with fifteen members who believed in what we were doing. Now we've got a community that pushes each other harder than any trainer ever could alone.

This place isn't fancy. We don't have juice bars or eucalyptus towels. What we've got is equipment that'll last forever, coaches who actually know their stuff, and people who show up ready to work. That's the empire we're building - one rep, one person, one day at a time.

Our Mission

We're here to strip away the fluff and get you actually strong. Not "toned" or "beach body ready" or whatever other marketing garbage is trending. Strong. Powerful. Capable.

Every program we write, every coaching cue we give - it's designed to make you better than you were yesterday. We work with weekend warriors trying to keep up with their kids, competitive athletes chasing PRs, and everyone in between who's tired of wasting time on workouts that don't deliver.
